I can’t bite my tongue,
and I can’t keep my mouth shut.
That’s my number one problem
— or blessing.

– David, 2002
as quoted in "Maniac or Messenger"

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting David’s site. I had reserved this domain name and given it to David several years ago, in hopes that when he got a little better, he might want to continue his activism on the web. Unfortunately, David did not get better and I am now setting up this site as a repository of David’s body of work. I can never hope to capture one tenth of who David really was, but I hope that his friends and family will visit often as I add his artwork, his musings, his photography, and his jail journals, as well as news articles and video clips about David and his life.

Yours,
Steve

Somehow, my mind wandered to thinking about David today. I loved seeing these pictures here today. I met him in 1985. He was so beautiful, inside and out. He died way too young.

It would be great if his memory could stop the AIDS DENIALISM…wich take more and more people as it spread….

  3. Max Alberts says:

A great photographer. A huge loss.
